Fabricated & Laminated Windscreen
At Acro Industries, we have been providing manufacturing solutions for a wide variety of industries since 1974. We maintain four facilities with a total of 150,000 square feet, and the quality of our precision manufacturing services is fully demonstrated in the assembly shown here. We were contracted by a client in the passenger rail industry to fabricate a laminated windscreen assembly for a passenger rail car. This was a high precision operation, and required materials that included .048” stainless steel, .750” honeycomb, tubing, glass, anti-graffiti film, and aluminum. Our customer’s part files were rendered in CAD drawings and then manufactured to precision accuracy. The materials were punched, formed, machined, welded, laser cut, laminated, and assembled to our client’s exact specifications, with final overall part dimensions measuring 35” x 82”. Our process maintained tightest tolerances of ± 0.005”, which was verified by our DCC programmable CMM, infinite series portable measuring system, and hand tools. All the necessary manufacturing was done in-house, demonstrating the wide scope of work that we perform without relying on sub-contractors. We manufactured 4000 of these units for our customer to deliver on a Just In Time (JIT) basis.
